NANNUP FLOWER AND GARDEN FESTIVAL Tuesday August 19th 2008 REVIEW! RECYCLE! REFURBISH! We have all heard these words but do we apply it to our gardening???? Let’s have a REVIEW of our gardens, RECYCLE what we don’t want and REFURBISH what we do. Come along and let our experts show you how. Guest speakers this year include Josephine Scally (Womble Farm), Ken Wright (Riverbend Escargot), Chris Scott, (Nannup Fresh Orchards), Denise Green (Especially Tulips), Dianne Whincop, (Amber Springs) talking about topics such as worm farms, composting, mulching, no dig gardening, permaculture, food crops, growing snails ( yes, really!!) & lilliums, and generally how to recycle and improve your garden. Have you ever wondered where the elephants get their breakfast???? …and what does happen to all that poo? How do you feed and water a HUGE garden when the zoo animals want to eat it???? SPECIAL GUEST Perth Zoo horticulturist KATHIE MAUGER will answer all your questions, talk about the circle of plant life at our zoo. COMPETITION!!!! Bring along the item (or a really good photo) of one way you have recycled or refurbished an item in your garden. Prizes awarded for ingenuity, practical application and ability to be used or made by other gardeners. BUY, SWAP or SELL – Bring along seeds, cuttings, plants (in clean containers), garden miscellany (including books), items from recycled materials, with your name, price and other information clearly labeled to sell or swap with other enthusiasts. Cost $35 which includes morning tea starting at 10am, lunch, excellent speakers from 10.30 til 4pm and great ideas for your garden. Laughter and great company is free!
